clarinet song choice
hey all -
i am a sophmore at phs but i really want to try out for section leader. in order to do this, i need a song to play. anyone have any ideas? i play clarinet by the way. please and thank you!!!

Well, I'm not a clarinetist, but if you're pretty good, the Poulenc Sonata for Clarinet (and Piano) is a really cool piece and could let you show off a good mix of musicality and technicality (it's got some fairly high stuff). The third movement particularily comes to mind.

I dont play clarinet but 2 years ago our band played at the West Coast Clarinet Congress. and we played Clarinet Candy good fast song with lots of Features. there were 2 other peice i cant remember them though i want to say Solo de Concour but i'm not sure.
With Rich on one shoulder and Captain Adrenaline on the other, It will be a show to remember!

Never try to play a piece that is above your ability, unless you have years to prepare. Sometimes though, the only thing stopping you from that point is your own mental block. You have the ability but you won't believe it.
