New Community Semi-Professional Wind Band!!

Post by BigBassClef » Thu Dec 16, 2004 3:08 pm

Hey all, this is Samuel Behar from San Diego State University...and upon hearing the sad news of Frederick Fennell's passing, I sat for a while and comtemplated the effect that Mr. Fennell has had on us all as musicians.

In his honor, I am in the process of starting a semi-professional, community wind band that would play standard concert band literature and perform concerts for the community at whole.

Hey all you SD County HS players who read this board, I am personally inviting all of you to contact me so I can get an idea of how interested the area is about creating a new band. Everyone is invited to contact me for more info as it becomes available.

you can PM me on here, or AIM: pan chromaticism, or email me: ibuki@kkpsi.org

Not much info right now, sorry, but thats only becuase the idea is a few days old.

Thanks for all your support,

Samuel "ibuki" Behar

I suggest you check out the following San Diego Wind Ensemble website as you may be duplicating efforts that have been in the works for a few years...

while I appreciate your post Vore...

I am trying to create my own group, because 1 or 2 is not enough.

I long for the days of every square mile of land having its own Concert Band...

So, I applaud the SDWE, but get ready for the rise of the "Bayside Concert Band"
