actually if you crank the heads, they can repel a bullet. sometimes.... we took a snare from our band room one weekend and tried it out. 3 out of 4 bullets pierced the snare head and went out the other side. one of them bounced off. :D one of the bullets that went through the kevlar head stuck to the inside of our snare shell. we never told our band director. and i dont think he even knows now
