i think having a guy on guard would be weird. i mean, like, my guard doesnt have any guys and were really close and we talk about like, well, girl stuff. like one time during field season we were talking about bra shopping and i dont think a guy would...appreciate that...for lack of better words. i think if u already have guys on your guard, go for it, but like, if theres no guys dont disturb the girls. cuz that might like, mess them up, it would screw up my guard. thats just my opinion tho, but it looks like im the only opinion so far so, yea! :D

im a guy on guard, and everyone always seems to be fine with it. They dont care what they talk about around me, and i dont ever feel uncomfortable when they are talking about things like bra shopping, i just leave the conversation.

guys in guard

Post by Miss A » Sat Feb 14, 2004 12:35 pm

I think that most guys in guard are accepted by the girls because they are good people to start with. No one wants to spend an 8 hour rehearsal with anyone, guy or girl, if they are a jerk. The girls in my guard have a lot of respect for a guy who will take the chance and be a part of the team in spite of the fact that there are still some who will ridicule them. Crack it, incase you didn't know, the girls like having you on guard because 1) you re' good 2) you are fun to watch perform 3) they think you're hot.

I'd think it would be awkward just because at our school doesn't regularly have guys in the guard. I think it would be important for someone to take the first step of guys being in the guard because I was very sure that if I were to have joined guard this year a couple of other guys would have also joined, even though it would have been tough work.
Hi! I'm glad to have met you!

We don't have boys on our guard, there's too many issues with it. Rooming, drama, stereotypes, drama, and drama. Not to mention we'd have to have more than one boy because if you have ONE boy all the judges are like "STARE AT MALE!!!" and they'd all have to be really good. So we just have random bandos that play with our equipment more than we do. They play, we practice.
Uh-oh for life!

We have our first guy

Post by weaponsRfun » Wed Feb 18, 2004 3:31 pm

Woodbridge has a guy on their team for the first time in their history! i want to say congrads to him for a job well done. i don't think it's weird at all having a guy on the team, it seems to take away some of the drama of having all girls because they usually don't want to be too dramatic with a guy around!
