I've got a snare drum but no idea what else to do.

Since the collapse of the UC Irvine drumline we've had some drums laying around collecting dust. I asked the director if I could borrow a snare and I've got it sitting here in my apartment. On the weekends I'd take it out to an empty parking lot on campus and do the limited rudiments and exercises from when I was in the drumline here. Anywho all I've been doing were 8s, double beat, accents, roll exercise, paradiddles and flam accent heights.

Anyone have any suggestions or tips?

go to vicfirth.com and look for the 40 essential rudiments and practice those, that'll keep ya busy for a while. 8-)

Selling them has been an idea we've been throwing around but he hasn't said if we are yet.

We've got two Pearl competitor series snares with flam heads on them.

nice... i think my school will be interested... we need a couple of snares badly cuz, our line is growing bigger-- we have 6 snare drummers right now but 5 drums, we might get a black one and put white contact paper on it, but if ur interested in selling 1 or 2 i'll ask my instructor or band director.
There is nothing more scary than a kid with an internet connection.
