Which band do favor more, and why?
I know it's not drum corp, but still, I'm more of a marching band fan, because they not only play for their accomplishments, but for their atheltic teams of the universities... so.... here's my question.
High school people of Southern California... which band is more favorable... USC or UCLA and please explain why. No need for any aggression or putting up a fight. Just feel free to share how much you favor one of the two.
As for me, USC. Their innovative "drive-it" style marching, their band charts as well as their school songs, and above all... just this enormous, blaring, ever-conquering sound which completely outsounds the rest, makes them deserve to BE "the Greatest Marching Band in the History of the Universe!" Plus, I am a Trojan Fan, so any other Trojan fans in high shool in the forum... FIGHT ON!!!!!
NEW RULE: I should have posted earlier that this should not be where people favor neither band, or say a "third choice". Sorry to bust your bubbles, but in this box all we should care is whether we like USC or UCLA's band. Thanks.

Even though I am a devout UCLA football fan...I would have to go with the Trojans. They simply have a better program...
...And they get to wear sunglasses.

Obviously, the 'J' is for Jesbo.
And the 'B', well...that's for Burnination

What a choice
Let me see, my choices are the Marching Train Wreck or the most in consistent band program in the history of college bands. I pick the one with the cutest girls.

Train Wreck metaphor
USC band has always produced a loud sound that is void of any regard to intonation, just like a train wreck. Their performance on TV at the Rose Bowl was worse than that.

Re: Ucla
Alot of UC schools use the color BLue and Gold/Yellow... in fact i think they all do im not sure, i know UCSB, UCI, UCSD have that blue yellow scheme. no originality between UC IMO. as for the bands, i have mp3s of alot of college bands playing various tunes and i like USC's better. as altohack said their music is more entertainingVHSTrumpetGuy86 wrote:UCLA. Which band?
Sorry neither for me.
I am actually a fan of the WVU Marching band, known as the "Pride of West Virginia". The Mountaineer's colors are Blue and Gold. I am a WVU alumni.

Whom Do You Favor More
Really, this is not even close.
USC has travelled to Notre Dame, Auburn, and throughout the world. UCLA cannot even get their full band ready for their first game. Cut me a break. If you did not have USC carrying the CA banner, you would have no University Bands at all that the rest of the world would know about. For a state that has over 1200 high schools, to only have one university band that is well known is a crime. Beides, who else can play Conquest and have the Horse Run around the Track.
