When Does Your Marching Band Season End?

Post by rockinfernie » Tue Dec 09, 2003 10:25 pm

so when does your Marching Band season end? We still have our last competition we host in Santa Barbara, so it seems pretty late in the year witht he lack of bands over the 3A mark

My band's season usually ends at Arcadia, but this year is an exception for us. This year, our season has been extended into January for the Fiesta Bowl.

My marching band season ended Tuesday, November 24, 1998 at the West Covina Field Show Tournament.

Then came drum corps 30 months later, which ended August 7, 2002 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, WI.

Our season ends at Santa Barbara as usual. But since the concept of championships, bands realize that this is like finals and the end. Im looking forward to Santa Barbara though, a lot of fun always happens there for moorpark.

My old Band (La Serna) used to march field show until the first week of Dec. (ToC) and parades intermittently after that (Whittier XMas, Disneyland CAS/MMD's in Jan/Feb, a random SCJA parade in the Spring just to dust off the marchign shoes...)

Valencia marches field almost exclusively until Championships (WooHoo!) and parades until Camarillo XMas. Then we hang up the Dinkles until Band Camp.

Last show of the year

Post by SoCalBandFan » Wed Dec 10, 2003 3:36 pm

Valley View HS will have their last field show in January at the Superdome in New Orleans. They will also perform in the Sugar Bowl halftime show with all of the other bands that are there.

It's not right that USC won't be there though.

For us, it ends either in the West Covina FT or the SCSBOA Championships.

My field season ended after the Temecula Valley Tournament. It really sucks that we had to miss Mira Mesa due to the fires. But we do perform our field show at a gulls game in January but we'll be standing on the ice so I dont think we'll be marchin. It was a good year, I'll miss it. :)
