I had heard that Magic will not be fielding a corps this season due to yet more financial drama...DCI is said to have stepped in and pulled the plug on them, so to speak.

Has anyone else heard this?

Completely unfounded rumor. Why would DCI step in and "pull the plug?" Look at how many other corps DCI has "allowed" to be run into the ground by poor financial management.

Yes, Magic is tightening their belt. Every corps is. Even the Blue Devils are having to stretch the dollar further than ever before. But Magic hasn't folded or been shut down, and they will be fielding a corps this summer.

guess you're right. good for them...it would be a shame to have to see any corps fold due to money constraints...
