The Winner

Post by yodagollum2004 » Thu Nov 20, 2003 7:27 pm

The real winner I think will be Beyer! We havn't seen them perform in a while, but I hear that are really good. I can't wait to see their show. The last time I saw it, it was really cool with that whole electonic drum stuff. :D

I am ending the poll cause a large bias is starting to emerge, the lurking variable at the center of the bias is the under representation of all bands on this poll, my conclusion from the poll is that ayala, mission, and especially Clovis are in the heat.... I say especially Clovis because they are second to ayala in the poll possible because of the large amounts of people from ayala voting...

LOts of Luck

Post by sabregurl » Thu Nov 20, 2003 11:10 pm

I do agree with the fact that the winner can not be determined through calculations. I know that every single AAAA band going up there is a great band. I know that the band that wants it the most, will get it. I am excited to see all the northern cali bands because from what I hear, they are amazing. Good luck to all, you all deserve your time in the spot light :)

Message from beyer student

Post by jairusrb » Thu Nov 20, 2003 11:13 pm

Ive recently discovered this website at the request of my director and to tell you the truth i am amazed and the audacity some of you have. In my opinion, and maybe not that of beyer, is that its not about what you score or how you place but that when you walked off of the field you feel confident that you tried your hardest and you pushed yourself and were better for it. before i went on these message boards i had a deep respect for all the programs that we have had the oportunity to compete with. After seeing the way eveyone shows such disrespect for the art, ive lost all respect. I am still excited however to see everyones shows this weekend. We've gotten to compete against Clovis West all season and they are an amazing program. As for the reason we havnt competed in a few weeks, we've been practacing hard... good luck to everyone on saturday and may the most deserving band win.

Just some helpful advice to everyone. If this is your first time on these boards take your time remember.

1. Sometimes what is written is not what the person had intended.

2. Take some time before responding and read it through also sometimes another post will clear it up and you won’t need to flame someone.

3. it’s a fine line between someone with a hidden agenda and someone who is just posting their thoughts.

4. Beware of flame bait. (Someone who will intentionally write a post with the intention of getting everyone riled up) Avoid responding.

5. Chill out. Most of what’s here is opinions don’t take someone's opinion on a band to mean they hate you or your school. :)

6. Let bad threads die, by responding to them you just perpetuate the thread.

7. Try to be positive. It’s hard for all of us to do, especially when someone is misinformed or just plain nasty.

Thoughts on this weekend.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY. 8-)

To all the bands just perform your best. :!:

To all the parents let’s let all the bands know we appreciate them. :D :!:
Truth is not a theory..

My Best To Everyone

Post by CJ » Fri Nov 21, 2003 1:52 pm

To All The Marching Band Participants:

I wish you all the very best this weekend and I sincerely hope you kids achieve your desired goals and dreams that you've been waiting for.

And no, I didn't actually vote in the above poll, but I did (perhaps, regretfully) in print.

Hopefully the weather will be cooperative.

Have Fun, Shoot For The Stars & Good Luck Everyone!

Just wanted to share this with some of the other parents and kids out there. As I packed my daughter off to Fresno last night we get so busy in the moment we don't have time to appreciate each other, family, friends, etc during this season. Knowing she was on her bus ride to the north I gave her a call and left her a, we are thinking of you, we love you, and we will be in the stands supporting you on message. I came home to her message thanking us, mom, dad for all our support, sisters for sitting through weekend shows and for just being there. So I guess I want to take a minute to thank directors, staff, friends, etc. for letting our family be a part of such an amazing program. That in someways it evens brings family closer together.

To all the bands performing this weekend our families have become attached not just to our school (upland) but to all of the schools we have watched throughout the year. We find ourselves rooting for all of you. Good luck and have a great time this Upland family is proud of all of you.
