I think that I wil ruffle some feather here....Just for kicks
AAAA:
1)Ayala (tie)
1)Etiwanda (tie)
3)Mission
4)Upland
5)Fountain Valley
6)Poway
AAA:
1)Trabuco Hills
2)Valley Wiew
3)Rancho Cucamonga
4)El Toro
I realize that I may have El Toro a little low, honestly I think that this could happen. The only flip-flop I see is between Rancho and El Toro.
As far as the whole Etiwanda debate, who cares? I wish them luck (and Scott Chandler? he is one of the gods of colorguard as well)
I also know that I was in Texas for the BOA show. WHAT THE CRAP!!!! I have never seen anything like that before, so for Ayala to have missed finals by 2 places........um......i think that they could be a fierce rival on Sat.
Dont forget that if you took the bands from the Pheonix regional and put them into the Super Regional, I think that dynasty themselves (Etiwanda) would have to put up a heck of a fight to get into finals.
Just my thoughts. Remember just thoughts. Not neccssarily opinion or fact. just Thoughts.

WBA Trabuco Hills
The WBA show at Trabuco Hill High School will be one of *the* premiere pageantry events of the year. In fact, I believe it will be the best field show tourney in southern California this year yet. I strongly suggest those of you who are free on Saturday to go and check this show out. You will see some of the best small/medium/large bands in the state. (This will also be a rare chance to see Etiwanda at the same show with Ruben S. Ayala, Poway, Fountain Valley, Upland, and Mission Viejo.)
So take a trip out to beautiful Mission Viejo, and see why so many are talking about this event! I suggest you get there early to...no, not secure a great parking spot (although that would be a fine reason to since so MANY people will be there)...but to see all of the bands that will be there that day.
See you then!

In 24 hours, I'll be back here, at Ayala, preparing for what sounds like the best WBA show so far this year. I'm not gonna predict anything, because I'm not that experienced enough in the field of marching band to act like I know what I'm talking about. I am gonna say that I feel that we have a great show, and will be dissapointed if we don't win anything. I'm NOT saying that the other bands don't have good shows, or don't deserve to win. I just want to win really badly, (hehe ) One last thing, good luck to all the bands gong this weekend.

Its almost here weather should be close to perfect
According to the experts Saturday in Mission Viejo should be high 63 low 45 partly cloudy no rain in site!
Good site good weather good bands. It just doesnt get any better than this!
Good Luck to all the bands. One thing I learned in Texas that was evident from all the Texas Bands. That is
1. Take control of the crowd. Own the field set the mark high
2. Be confident and perform
3. Be classy in defeat but especially in victory.
If you performed your best than there nothing more you can do!

Hey there I'm an etiwanda student and well i read that u wanted to know the theme of our show. Well the name of the show is XpressivO and the point of the show is an X-theme and an O-theme the x-theme is really angular and in your face and we will only march drill with straight lines the O-them is really gentle and we only march curved drill. The tarps are there to make a giant tic-tac-toe board so it's like we're playing a game the whole time. which is why the last selection is entitled win, loose, draw so yup thats it hope to see you all at the wba competition good skill to everyone your toes up!

It's been going on for some time now.GL Falker wrote:I'm personally rootin on Etiwanda. Who says an SCSBOA band can't compete with the WBA heavyweights? Good luck to everyone on Saturday.
Some examples -
1992 - Etiwanda "upsets" Clovis West at the RCC comp. Also Etiwanda's first year attending BOA GN, places 11th (1st place guard?)
1997 - Thousand Oaks almost cleans house (winning all except for colorguard) against Logan at the Live Oak Regional. Probably would have taken WSMBC Championships if they had gone.
1998 - WSMBC Championships. Etiwanda 1st prelims/3rd finals. James Logan 2nd prelims/2nd finals. Mission Viejo 3rd prelims/1st finals. Valley View 4th prelims/4th finals.
Southern California has been flexing its muscle at central & northern Cali.
Side note for Clovis East. As new as they are, not only is their band making noise, but so is the football team. Clovis East beat perennial power Long Beach Poly earlier this season.

I dont think so. It was cold and wet. Upland went on during a huge downpour. Thay were all pretty wet. I think only Etiwanda had Dry weather for most of their show. All band parents had to work extra hard getting pit on off field to avoid damage to the wet turf.Tyler wrote:Cadetsnare wrote:I

Etiwanda was impressive very very clean show. I personally dont care for their music(just hard for me to get into) but man they looked good and sounded good. I can see why they did so well at BOA. Good job!
My uneduacated placements just my preferences based on what I saw
1. Etiwanda
2. Ayala
3. Upland
4. Mission
Didnt get to see the last 2 bands
I thought Upland did better than their score indicates but thats a moot point because the scores are the scores. The rain really made a tough parking situation even tougher but the bands arriving for the late shows managed as usual to make it happen. I hear in 3A that El Toro was terrific!
I guess it all comes down to Saturday in Fresno? See ya all there
Truth is not a theory..
Did the rain and field condition have any impact on the final scores of bands who played in the rain or after the field was soaked? I was sick and unable to attend but I understand that some bands had problems with people slipping and falling due to the field condition. Anyone have an opinion or comments from their observations last night?
