Any chance we can see the pdf? It's not posted on the NCBA website yet.

Sorry, I don't have the recaps. I only received the scores you see listed.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post the scores. We have become quite spoiled with receiving videos and scores. But man, half a tenth of a point from taking grand sweepstakes. That would have just killed me. Anyways, congrats to Mr. Vasquez and The Cardinal Regime.

You're welcome. I remember attending this band review a couple times in the past and it's a great event. The students, staff and volunteers do a wonderful job hosting it.

And you're right. You can't get any closer than this. After seeing Matt's videos, I could see why these two groups came so close to each other in scores.

:D Very nice performance by GV! The band seemed well practiced and in all phases, i.e. music, marching, guard, and percussion! And for the first time since Mr. V has been GV's leader I noticed the Mr. C. swagger is back which means that Mr. V has hit his stride as a high school band director! Again, congratulations to GV for a solid performance at Santa Cruz!

Not sure what this "swagger" that you speak of is all about :?

Great performance by GV.
Honestly speaking though, it really could have gone either way with Armijo.
So it is not as though GV ran away with sweeps.
Benicia is not far behind either.
Would like to see the three of them square off again once more (but I kinda doubt that'll happen as I don't think that GV will attend Foothill or Fairfield) :td:
Once a drum major, always a drum major.

I didn't feel that GV had its best performance of the year at Santa Cruz. It was, barely, good enough to win sweepstakes. Their performance at Franklin, against Armijo, Benicia, Fairfield, and LPO, was by far there best of the year so far.

No, GV will not be at Foothill (that would be band reviews on 3 weekends in a row if they did) and they won't be at Fairfield (they will be performing at Disneyland that weekend). BUT, Benicia, Armijo and GV will all be at CCBR on Nov. 14th, although GV won't be in competition.
