Kaiser looks and sounds pretty good for this early in the season. They still have a lot of work to do (Purple Carnival is a very hard march), but I can't wait to see/hear their Arcadia performance.

Kaiser is gonna be one mean competitor this year. I believe that last year's score puts them in A this year at Arcadia (personally, I believe for the past 2 years they've been judged a little harshly). They have a pretty good shot at taking the division.
Also, can someone explain why Duarte received such a massive penalty, as far as I know "King Cotton" is SCSBOA approved, and I can only think that they didn't submit a score for evaluation to the judges, but that's a 9 point penalty.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. How could that NOT be distracting (to both the students, judges, and audience)? It no doubt harmed the competition.

By watching the video, it looks like- 9 points for repeating the first strain and 9 points for not playing all the way through competition.

Amador Valley did it about 25 or so years ago.
