Hey Luis!

Just a small correction: Santiago's DM was military.

Thank you so much for the results!

Thanks Emily. I have made the correction. The results I came across had Santiago listed as Mace, but I should have caught that since I physically saw the DM before the parade started and he did in fact have a military baton .

Thanks for the videos! It was a nice parade and nice to see the various groups doing so well so early!

I did have an interesting experience with a fellow spectator that I've never had before at any band review, parade, etc., during which I was threatened for setting up my chair "too close" to another party (4-5 feet, curved around the corner as to not obstruct their view though their set up area was completely empty until shortly before the parade started).

I wasn't worried, as Tustin does a great job of having plenty of police and explorers around monitoring traffic and street closures but I really hope that if this party supports one of the bands that regularly participate in parades and reviews (which I believe they do), other spectators are not affected by them.

You're welcome Alex. I'm still a little embarrassed about leaving before El Rancho and Tustin performed. But for the others, yes, I agree, they sounded great for this early in the season.

Sorry to hear about your experience with a spectator. I've had my share of experiences in the past and unfortunately, there's really nothing you can do, other than to ignore it. What has really worked for me is getting a 3-step ladder so I can shoot video over spectators. It they choose to get right in my camera angle still, then oh well. I get over it pretty quick now. Chances are some other parents/spectators will tell them to get out of the way. Of course I don't need my ladder for Arcadia or Loara since the directors are kind enough to set me up with a ladder/platform...it's really a huge help.

After 20 years of attending band reviews as a spectator, I can say without hesitation that band parents are the worst part of every band review, no question.
