Re: Lineup - 2015 LACF Marching Band Parade Competition
On the one hand, I am very happy to see so many programs participating, and getting parade music out there to the "masses." On the other, when I took my group there, I was less than enthralled by the venue; extremely narrow pathways with crowds pushing against the band, a 180 degree turn, bands playing literally next to each other... Is this the best environment to showcase our students?

This is my seventh year attending this event and the general response I hear is that kids and staff have a great time. As for crowd control, you really have to rely on your boosters and/or staff & volunteers to help out along the parade route as some sections are narrower than others.

Re: 2015 LACF Marching Band Parade Competition
The parade at the fair is about the fair. The students get a free pass into the fair and get some time to socialize with their band friends. As a bonus directors get to prepare for an early parade performance with no real pressure. It is a win win. One of the downsides can be the weather. You might be there on a day when it is 95 plus degrees.
