Here are my predictions

1. Los Angeles 80.2
2. Saddleback 79.2
3. Marshall 77.2
4. JFK 77.1
5. Oxnard 76.8
6. Don Lugo 75.4
7. Charter Oak 75.5
8. Highland 74.8
9. Lancaster 74.7
10. Palos Verde 73.9
11. Tustin 72.7
12. La Costa Canyon 71.1

These predictions are partially based on the judges not holding scores and keeping 1A bands in box 3. If they hold back scores everything will be up to 5 points lower.
This is going to be a really close one. I am 80% sure that Los Angeles is going to take the gold home but i feel like silver and bronze are open to anyone at the moment. My prediction is a little different though. I'm not good with numbers but scores should be close to each other this year.

1.Los Angeles
2.Lancaster
3.JFK
4.Saddleback
5.Marshall
6.Don Lugo
7.Charter Oak
8.Palos Verdes
9.La Costa Canyon
10.Tustin
11.Highland
12.Oxnard

I could see this happening although I will say, having seen almost half of these bands yesterday at Moorpark, that Lancaster and Palos Verdes had scores that seemed a bit low and were closer to JFK and Marshall and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended closer to the top, if not above JFK and Marshall.

There is a typo in my original post.
6. Don Lugo 75.5
7. Charter Oak 75.4

Most of you probably figured that out all on your own.

Will definitely be interesting to see what happens, I won't even pretend to try to place them in any kind of order because I've only seen a few of them in person, and the ones that have gone head to head seem to have wildly different results depending on who the judges are...especially for effect captions. For example, Highland's effect scores have jumped around a lot this year from show to show both in music and visual effect, even though the performance captions haven't changed nearly as much. They are just one example that comes to mind. As I looked at recaps throughout the season it seems like there are a number of shows in 1A that sometimes the effect judges really dig, and other times they just don't at all for some reason.

All that aside, it has been a very competitive year for 1A, it took a combined score of 195 to make the cut this year and that's definitely higher than the past. Anticipating a great show for the audience this Saturday.

It would be nice to sit in the stands and see all of the 1A performances.
Even rank / rate them for yourself. I am going to see as many as I can.
It is always good to see your competition for yourself.

Good skill to all!

Last words before we leave for Warren HS.

The show at Moorpark had JFK, Marshall and Steel Canyon within half a point of each other. Any of those three bands could make the order different with their best run.

Highland, Palos Verde and Lancaster were all one "tier" below the above three.

Here is an adjusted prediction:

1. Los Angeles 80.2
2. Saddleback 79.2
3. Marshall 77.2
4. JFK 77.1
5. Oxnard 76.8
6. Don Lugo 75.4
7. Charter Oak 75.5
8. Highland 74.8
9. Palos Verde 73.9
10. Lancaster 72.8
11. Tustin 72.7
12. La Costa Canyon 71.1

I did not predict very well this year. The results and scores are next to my predictions (finals score listed second):

1. 2 Los Angeles 80.2 / 76.3
2. 1 Saddleback 79.2 / 80.0
3. 3 Marshall 77.2 / 75.7
4. 6 JFK 77.1 / 71.2
5. 10 Oxnard 76.8 / 64.5
6. 11 Don Lugo 75.4 / 63.6
7. 7 Charter Oak 75.5 / 69.6
8. 5 Highland 74.8/ 72.7
9. 8 Palos Verde 73.9 / 69.1
10. 4 Lancaster 72.8 / 73.2
11. 12 Tustin 72.7 / 63.1
12. La Costa Canyon 71.1 Not attending
9 Steele Canyon 65.9

After watching most of the bands, I felt the scores were a bit low with the judges being reluctant to put scores into box 4. Only the top three groups had some/most of their scores in box 4.

Yes. All of the bands had way lower scores than last year. Plus the sun was right in most of the bands eyes when they were performing.

Only noticed some of the division results are listed from last night. Does anyone know about Division 4A?

Not terribly surprised by the placements, they came out close to where I thought they would, though I was kind of surprised that the spreads weren't a little closer with some of the groups...though most of these groups I have not actually seen this year and my group performed late enough we didn't see any of the performances at championships.

Looking closely at the recap is pretty interesting though...some of the bands obviously got pulled up by their visual scores, some pulled down, and Jim is right, very little in the way of box 4 scores..though not just the medalists got there.

In music performance only Saddleback (1st in music) and Lancaster (2nd in music) had both subcaptions from both judges in Box 4, LA (3rd in music) had one judge put both subcaptions in box 4, and Marshall had 1 judge put 1 subcaption just inside box 4. Saddleback, Lancaster, and LA were the only ones to break 300 in music.

Music Effect only saw Saddleback and Marshall in box 4, visual effect judge was more willing to go into box 4 (5 groups with both subcaptions in box 4...(Charter Oak, Highland, LA, Marshall, Saddleback) but visual performance only had 2 bands in box 4...and only 1 subcaption for each group (JFK and Saddleback).

Percussion only saw Charter Oak (1st) and Lancaster (2nd) even break 70, and both were the only ones in box 4 with 3rd and 4th place groups dropping down to just above middle of box 3 and the rest being mid to low box 3.

Definitely not a panel that was just giving away happy numbers this year, I'll be curious to see how the 4A division turned out with the same panel, but it looks like I'll have to wait until the recaps going up on SCSBOA's site again since no one is posting them here.
