SCJA West Valley - What??

Post by Hostrauser » Sun Oct 19, 2014 7:41 pm

From the WOP scores page...

West Valley Tournament (SCJA)
- Hemet, CA

DIVISION 2A
00.100 West Valley (62.2 pen)

 :!:

Uh, can anyone explain this? A score of 0.1 with a -62.2 penalty? Not the other way around?

I know I scratched my head when I looked at the recap, but that is what it says. Maybe that's how they write in a DQ to get the software to give a zero score? Or maybe the show host didn't want their score to count? That's all I can think of... :?

It's a way for the show host to post a "gross score" for qualifications purposes, but not be placed. It's a work around for our new scoring system.

So West Valley technically scored 62.3 but shenanigans ensued because the computer was being difficult? I definitely understand that.

Yes, our software: Competition Suite does not support non-competing hosts who need A score for championships purposes. This is our temporary fix for now. Not a perfect science, but functional.

Or maybe set up a class called "Host"?
