Cupertino TOB Schedule-CORRECTED
I listed the wrong times, I put staging by mistake. At least no one will be LATE because of it. FYI, I left off scouts, grand marshal, etc. I have corrected it-
The SAT definitely hurt the TOB. I got what appears to be the official schedule form the Dublin HS web site.

Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule
Wow, that's unfortunate. With only seven street bands...you gotta wonder if it's even worth having the street competition (considering all the permits/fees required).
And I thought that Cupertino was making a strong comeback after some really weak showings back in the late 2000s...we'll see how the competition fares next year. It's weird because SAT always falls during Cupertino yet this year's lineup seems to be alarmingly small.
That said, my money is on SAN BENITO to take top honors on the street.
Go Balers!!!
Field looks highly unbalanced (in terms of scheduled performing groups).
Good if your interest is only in the big bands.
But looks like many in that category are going to go home empty handed due to the insane level of competition amongst the big bands (it's gonna be a bloodbath!!!).

Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule
It's been several years since the SAT was on this weekend, they had been on the first Saturday. The November dates also switched this year from the 2nd to the 1st Saturday. I have no idea why they change it up.

Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule
Interesting to see one division be as large as all four divisions combined. Looking forward to returning to Cupertino! Great school & community!!

Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule
According to the schedule you posted, the parade competition will practically be over by the time it barely starts according to the CHS TOB website.
I suppose I'll email Gilbert in the morning.

Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule-CORRECTED
Thanks for posting this, PGOK.
Can someone confirm the class for Westmont? 3A or 4A?

Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule-CORRECTED
Can someone post a link or describe here how classes are determined at TOB? I think it's wonderful that so many programs are growing, and Lynbrook has clearly moved up to the big leagues. But I was still very surprised at the number of bands in Class 5A this year.

Cupertino has traditionally always had a high number of large bands at it. Most of the big, Bay Area NCBA bands use TOB as a "debut" show.

Great, thank you! (Link especially appreciated.)Hostrauser wrote:Number of musicians (winds and percussion).DWC wrote:Can someone post a link or describe here how classes are determined at TOB?
For the six years I've been attending, Class 5A was always Mountain View, Homestead, and Saratoga, plus or minus 1. That's why it was such a shock to see eight, a couple of which were 3A last year.Hostrauser wrote:Cupertino has traditionally always had a high number of large bands at it. It's all good. And so many great shows this year!

Can someone please post the results for both Street and Field in the scores section or here would be appreciated. Thank you much .
Re: Cupertino TOB Schedule-CORRECTED
When we receive the scores, we will post them on the scores page. We are at the mercy of the event people to release the scores for publication.

My profuse apologies -- I was working at the time, wasn't thinking about this forum, and while I know most of the placements from memory, I didn't write down the scores.JCYS wrote:Results?

Great shows all this year, Branham's "Freaky Tiki" is particularly clever, but I have to confess that Lynbrook's based on "How To Train Your Dragon" is my fav.
