Chowchilla High School performed the Conqueror back in 1983. They did win their class at the Santa Ana Review that year with the Conqueror.

It seems like there is a higher percentage of Sousa marches this year.
About every other high school it seems.

Sorry about that. I was trying to collect the march titles as I was tabulating solo. Heritage of the March is a series of march recordings from 1973 to 1988. Our friend jcys has all or most of them. They were originally offered as records (LPs) for free to a select group of friends of Robert Hoe and the Robert Hoe Foundation at the time of his death. There is a nice writeup on Wikipedia. They had previously been unavailable commercially but starting in 2011 they have become available on CDs starting with a compilation called Heritage of John PHilip Sousa, and in 2012 the first two LPs of the series.

I should have remembered it was a collection of march recordings and, even worse, that "Heritage of the March" is not on the approved march list! In my defense, however, I was trying to hurry and that is the what is written on the cover of the music.

Chimes of Liberty it was.

On a trivial side note...Bob Hoe never liked Goldman marches and, as I recall, he never appeared on the Heritage of the March Series (not just because Bob didn't like him, but because his stuff is still under copyright).

Also, I'm sorry I haven't been able to collect more titles from Santa Cruz and Pleasanton, lots of interesting stuff being played...but I didn't get a program.

Foothill doesn't list music, but I did get a program from Santa Cruz, and will list as soon as I get some free time.
