Two Weeks to WBA Championships
Well it two weeks before the slugfest in Fresno and there was a very good competition in Mission Viejo last night. Scores have been posted for that show and we now have a better idea about Ayala, Mission and Upland. What about the other 4A schools? If you are from Amador Valley, Fountain Valley, Thousand Oaks, Beyer, Clovis West, or Poway: What are your most recent scores from this past weekend? They are not posted yet.
Looks like the Trabucco Hills show should be a perfect set up for Fresno!

i think upland, mission and ayala are very unpredictable!! you dont really know what's gonna happen at fresno because their scores keep fluctuating (sp)! i'm sorta scared to see the outcome. But either way, i'm excited and can't wait to perform at fresno! See you there.

Most of the 4A Bands Did not compete this last weekend due to the rain, At our competition, Beyer and Clovis West did not compete, Amador did compete even through the rain and scored a 79.5, That was in the rain minus the pit, so it could have varied slightly if conditions were different and the pit was laying.

Clovis West
I'm happy with our band this year. Scores have been steadily rising and percussion has been on a winning streak. at the fresno state show, we placed third and received an 84.05 and a 92.00 in percussion. The Gilroy produced better numbers: 86.06 overall and another percussion caption win with a 89.60. The Buchanan show was a big leap in scores. Overall was a 90.25 and percussion was again given 1st place with a 92.5. The band gets major props for closing the gap between us and logan by two points. It was a disappointment that we were unable to perform at the San Jose show, but I believe I speak for the whole band when I say that we are ready for Championships here in Fresno.

Re: Clovis West
I would have to say Clovis is one of the favorites this year. I cant wait to see your show. Too bad Logan not going to be there..I can hear it now " you only won because Logan wasnt there".Vermin87 wrote:I'm happy with our band this year. WBA Championships are going to be different without James Logan there but here are my two cents about it. I've only seen the NorCal groups, and only follow the SoCal scores, so please excuse my bias.
Class A competition looks to be tough this year. It's hard to say who will win but the 3rd and 4th place A groups could knock out a few AA groups for finals this year with 17 A/AA schools moving on to finals this year.
Class AA could have an undisputed winner this year with Valley Christian. Assuming that they haven't peaked yet because I haven't seen them, they appear to be this year champ. Personally I'm rooting for Arroyo Grande but unless they can catch up it looks like they'll just take home 2nd-5th. Although my gut tells me they'll take High Auxiliary. I'm happy though that the Central Coast is making its presence this year with new comers Atascadero and Paso.
Class AAA, first let me say it's interesting to see your guard uniforms on the field without you actually in them (i.e. Buchanan) . Speaking of which Buchanan has a pretty good show this year, but so does Clovis. A definite lock for finals, but maybe not AAA Champs.
Class AAAA, I predict that Clovis West will take it this year. Their show is hot the music is excellent. It's just a well put together package.
Best of luck to everyone going to WBA Champs, hopefully I'll go this year. I'm not a fan of the two site finals this year, it forces you to pick
