WBA Dublin

Post by Georgie » Wed Oct 26, 2011 9:20 am

Very interesting lineup for the WBA show at Dublin HS. Chick out the 4A bands ... the NCBA takes over that class! Should be very interesting how those groups fare on WBA sheets with judges that are not familiar with their programs or shows. Individual judges [music and visual] should have a field [no pun intented] day with a couple of them. Keep an eye on Homestead as well ... they were right behind Logan last week in Gilroy!!!

I AM VERY VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS LINE-UP FOR A "debut" SHOW. I am ever so grateful for all the schools who have chosen to help make this "debut" show something very special. And to those NCBA "only" bands/guards that are venturing over to WBA - especcially those who are going for their first time...I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH. ... I am really grateful.

I would ask for all of us do what we can to help make this a great experience for our students. You will love the stadium... SERIOUSLY... it is one of the newest and best stadiums in the BAY AREA - if not NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. We are doing what we can to make the first time we have ever done this a very good first time. SYNERGY/PATIENCE will be the two words that I am going to keep saying to myself.

Again, many thanks. Hostrauser...as far as I am concerned...if DUBLIN can give a good show - especially knowing they are at their second ever WBA show and are the HOST show, your score is VERY REASONABLE. Well, Done... and to "Georgie" don't think I didn't notice and had a good :) when I looked at the "NCBA" class (Leigh was at one time 'strictly' NCBA)!!!! Thanks...
AND AS FAR AS "watchout for HOMESTEAD"..... I am very HONORED that John would make the DUBLIN show the last scheduled show prior to their wonderful trip to MACY'S DAY PARADE!!

Don't know if this is appropriate place for this response. Just wanted to thank all of you for taking the "risk" in attending our first ever show. Yes.. i think it is a risk to go to a place that has never hosted a band review before!! To see so many familiar faces and especially the Sacramento Schools (money/time/new WBA folks), was extremely touching. To be able to shake hands with folks whom I hope will become friends was SPECIAL. For 23 year consecutive years, I have taught high school music. October 29, 2011 was as special a day as I have had in my career. I can not thank you enough for placing your trust in our ability to do something we have never done.

The shows were wonderful!! It was so COOL seeing all these bands/guards perform in such a wonderful stadium. You are special people and we see that by the performances your students give. Your sudents represent you!! AWESOME.

Rest assured...we know there is room for improvement and I will be sending out a SINCERE letter to y'all asking for what you would like to see us do better. I would like to see this become a show that we are all proud of - a show that we are all a part of. The venue could be one of the nicest our students will perform in and I would like to see the show improve and grow with that improvement.

Hope you have a great rest of the season be it in WBA and/or NCBA.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. We hope to be able to do it again next.year. On campus today (10/31/11)...the Superintendent made a wonderful statement to the high school / middle school faculties (inservice day) about how great the event was. It was the first band/guard competition he HAS EVER ATTENDED!!!! So, we will see what comes out of it.

Again, it takes all of us to make a band review succeed. LOVE IT...

I'd also like to say thank you for hosting such a great review.

Parking was easy, the stadium was close, the support-staff/parents coordinating things were very nice and cooperative, and the stadium itself was GREAT!
Thank you!!
