My review of the 6A class on Saturday.
Rancho Bernardo - show title "Bound" (a la Avon 2009 Con-Uniform-ity). Musically, RB delivers in usual and dramatic fashion: Samuel Barber's Symphony #1. Trumpet feature/ run in the opener

; needs clean up this early, but wow! I'm a huge fan of Rob Jett & Co., so was surprised (and saddened) that he is no longer with staff. Colorguard seemed to be lacking the energy and panache they've always brought to the stage. Hard not to compare to Avon's show, so would like to see more movement/ visuals in the overall package to match the group's playing ability. Presenting a 2/3 completed show hurt GE and ultimately overall score. Maybe play the rest of the music in place next time? Excited to see a more completed/ polished product at Poway in two weeks.
Mount Carmel - show title "Cartoons, ..., & Luallabies". I believe the opener is Cartoon by Paul Hart? A light-hearted, fun and whimsical show. Great entrance onto the field, skipping and hopping, keeping with the theme. Wonderful sound from the ensemble, especially during the "big band" portions. Didn't understand the use of the chairs during the ballad, so maybe that'll come together in a few weeks. Colorguard seemed to have a disconnect in energy from the band. Congrats on presenting a completed show

and a much deserved sweeps.
