Happy Birthday Igor Stravinsky!

Post by Hostrauser » Fri Jun 17, 2011 10:49 am

Born June 17, 1882, 129 years ago today.

Enjoy this video of him conducting the end of "The Firebird Suite" with the New Philharmonia Orchestra in 1965 at the age of 82.

A bit of a different interpretation from what I'm used to hearing. Notice how detached he has the orchestra playing the finale?

We should stage a riot ala "Le sacre du printemps" debut in honor of his birthday.
