There are a lot of posts on the most exciting or most fun music ever played, but what was the most difficult piece you have ever played that required so much more practice than ever before?
For me:
Music of the Spheres - Philip Sparke - Piano
La Mezquita de Cordoba - Julie Giroux - Trumpet 1
Most Difficult Piece Ever Played

Liturgical Dances - Holsinger (Euphonium)
Lots of meter changes and odd syncopations, and then the finger-tiring ostinato (eighth-note triplet runs in cut time) at the end.
