I know we maybe say this every year, but this year I think I truly do mean it when I say: This years NCBA's championship will be VERY interesting.
If we do the unthinkable, would it make us look crazy?

I think it's really between 3 schools in the Open division...

Thanks for the "NOVICE-LOVE." Sometimes we feel a little like the child at Thanksgiving having to sit at the child's table. We count too. :) Also, thanks for the pat on the back. Hope all the groups can keep their emotions in check and have their best shows. :yeah:

Saturday was the first time ever that I took students to compete in the NCBA CHAMPIONSHIPS. I can see the frustration and jubilation of NCBA champs. Again, there are too many groups to participate in the NCBA CHAMPIONSHIPS. 17 ensembles in NOVICE PERCUSSION ALONE??!! My idea again...Foothill hosts Bay Area Region Championships and Elk Grove hosts Sacramento Regional Championships and the top three winners from the FOOTHILL & ELK GROVE SHOWS (SIX IN TOTAL IN EACH DIVISION; maximum number) advance to the following weekend's (or wait two weeks to make time for Spring Breaks; ALLOWING FOOTHILL AND ELK GROVE TO HAVE THE SAME WEEK REGARDLESS OF WHEN EASTER FALLS ON THE CALENDAR) championship. I believe there would still be around 54 guards/percussion units competing. Increase the fee for competition $200 PER UNIT (those with two units or more $150 per unit). That should cover NCBA expenses. NCBA is a non-profit group and if NCBA can not run a show with a $10,800 budget (trophies/judges), someone needs to step up and figure it out!! I could go on BUT THE THE THREAD IS ABOUT PERCUSSION...I GOT IT!! Congrats to all the groups for performing and special congratulations to those ensembles who did receive a trophy. BIG MIKE DRIVES HIS BMW ... I would like to see your NCAA basketball bracket because you did a pretty good job with the predictions. Hope y'all have a great rest of the school year and hope to see you at the JUNE 5TH, 2010 NCBA meeting. There are at least two officers up for election. Could be a good meeting.
