CCGC show up north

Post by pittech » Tue Feb 16, 2010 10:28 pm

Do you think a CCGC perc should would work up north (aka PAST Concord, CA) Why or why not? think any NCBA lines that normally don't go to those shows would attend?

I think it would work. Another show in the Sacramento area would be great!

I was thinking more Vallejo area for a half way point between Sac lines and South Bay lines.

A long time ago in a G....there were three CCGC shows in the north; Sacramento, Stocton, and Concord. This was actually a discussion I had with another Director who lamented on the same matter. He said there was problem with not having an available date.

Yep ... gcarrasco is correct. In the late 90s and early 2000s, Roseville HS outside of Sacto hosted a couple of CCGC shows. The shows suffered from very low participation as few Bay Area groups came up for it, and only a few Sacto area groups participated [Freelancers, Roseville, and maybe Oakmont and Folsom]. I believe Mt. Diablo used to host a show in Concord [gcarrasco would definitely know]. I am not sure on the Stockton shows.
Seems like a great idea, but the key would be getting Bay Area groups to participate. If it was a unique or special venue [Memorial Auditorium or Folsom HS], maybe that might draw a few. Also, you would have to get a bunch of the Solano County and almost all Sacramento schools for it work.

There are quite a few groups in Sacramento that have winter lines/guards that I am sure would participate. The reason we do not do CCGC is that NCBA shows are much closer to us, and the cost is less in the long run. I would love to take my guard to a CCGC show.
I am NOT too old for this!

I'd rather be Dreaming... in a tree.
