Starting a Winterguard

Post by agentsquishypenguin » Sun Nov 29, 2009 1:21 pm

I am a part of the color guard at my high school. All of the guard members want to start a winterguard and compete. We have all of the paperwork, but we need to raise $300 ASAP! any fundraiser ideas????

I know lots of people who get their cars washed year round. Unless the weather's bad, there's no reason not to do a car wash, and lots of people show up for the cause, not for the wash.

how is babysitting out?
i think between the 6 of you guys, you could do some damage. (:

im sure mothers and fathers clearly need a day or night to themselves; especially if they need to do some holiday shopping!

dont bail out on all ideas, make sure you think it all through first. then decide

hopefully this helps.
good luck ! :wav:

We have an obnoxious amount of practice, and we have to keep a 2.5 to stay in (my rule). we practice every morning and every afternoon except mondays. i'm not saying its a bad idea, just its more difficult. and weather in winter here is freezing and windy. We were thinking about selling hand-made ornaments, but idk.

Cell phones, printer cartridges, computers, etc. There are a lot of places that will pay for these items to recycle them.

here is the company we have used before http://www.aercrecycling.com/contact/california.php

it can be a great fundraiser, many schools in this area have done them... making over a thousand dollars in 1 day! Print fliers, put ads in the newspapers, post it on facebook, ect....

it sure beats washing cars all day!

You need to make sure you have your school's support for the team in order to do any of this stuff using the school's name. You mentioned that your band director is not supportive, so you'll need to find out from your principal or someone in authority to see if you will get the support to do this under the school's name, insurance, etc...
