(hopeful) Cavies parent needs a litl advice...
Regarding move-in date / college Spring-term end date... what's the normal practice for these young men when their college term would end in excess of 3 weeks past the expected move-in date?

I'm kidding.
You need to speak directly to whatever caption head said young man is in, and go from there. Up front and honest communication is what's needed. Just remember though, for every position in the corps, about 30 people are sitting in the wings waiting to take the position. So do what you can to protect that spot by making sure the management and instructional staff know exactly what's going on. NO "fast ones" and the old "better to ask for forgiveness...." attitude. If your kid is good enough to be in the Cavaliers, and they value him, they'll value him even more by seeing honesty.

It's not uncommon for college students to arrange to finish their work and take finals early. Corps are familiar with this situation as most members are students. Make sure your son communicates early and often with professors and corps management and they should be able to work something out.
Did he go to the first audition camp last week?

Thank you both for your very valuable advice.
... Honest communication: Definitely! That part comes naturally.
... Early planning: Will contact professors and counselor right away.
...Is BEFORE the audition too early?

Frame the question that way to the caption head or corps director...you say something like "My son's dream is to be in the Cavaliers, but there may be a minor conflict with move-in later in the season. Do you want the specifics now, or would you rather speak about this later?"zotpatrolmom wrote:Thank you both for your very valuable advice.

Put the ball in their court.
