MYSTIKAL STAFF RESIGNS

Post by Mystikal » Mon Oct 12, 2009 10:10 am

After much deliberation and attempts to resolve the unfortunate issues with the Executive Director, Corps Director Chris Magonigal and his entire 2009 staff have resigned from the Mystikal organization.

"What we were able to do with the students last season was an amazing accomplishment based on the circumstances. I wish Rob and his organization the best of luck in the future and hope they can turn that thing around. I hope they do the right things and make the right decisions in the coming months. I would also like to thank everyone in California for the unbelievable effort to make our season a success in the face of very turbulent circumstances!" - Chris Magonigal

All contact with the Mystikal organization can be sent to rlowery@mystikalyoutharts.org
or by calling 562.335.2513

Yup... been there and done that. I am still waiting for my last check from a certain drum corps for 1983!

Funny!! I'm still waiting for the same organization to pay me for filling in for your old buddy Lockwood announcing at their "invitational". You know, I've never known someone with so many excuses for NOT paying me $100. Funny stuff....

Indeed. If only we had the clout of the IRS. We could charge interest & penalties.

And it's one thing when you go into it knowing it's a volunteer gig, but quite another when you're blatantly lied to  The thing about drum corps is that even when you're getting paid, in most cases, you're still working for free.

Yup... over the years and even recently it has been the cause for the demise of various drum corps in Southern California. Bad management...

Ryan,

Shall we name the Southern California drum corps that we have seen die due to horrible management?

Esperanza, Mystikal, Capital Regiment (OH), Magic (FL), East Coast Jazz (MA)... heck, and that's just over the past few years.

I think Vore wanted to keep it to the corps in California who have folded due to bad management.
