Help with Heads
My budget just got approved last night and I really need to purchase drum heads. Every vendor that I usually use is back ordered into December on their Remo Emporer Suede heads. can anybody recommend a good company that I can order from that will have heads in stock?
I am also wondering if anybody has tried the Evans or Remo bass drum heads with the "built in damping system" and what their opinion of these heads are.
Thank you

Re: Help with Heads
The Evans heads with the dampening system are excellent. Most Bass drum heads are difficult and time consuming to dampen and tune, but these heads sound great right away. I use half of the dampening felts and it's perfect for my outdoor line.

Re: Help with Heads
we use Evans heads on all our battery and have been happy with them. I have ordered from steveweiss.com and they have a deep selection of sizes and styles.
Re: Help with Heads
I will second everyone on the Evans MX bass heads... they are great!
Remo has not figured out the built-in muffling yet, but the Evans MX bass heads have it pretty dialed in. Use half for the fall, all of them for the indoor season.

Re: Help with Heads
Evans heads are great all the way around. The basses have that great muffling system and the articulation and durability of the snare & tenor heads is unmatched!
Good luck!
