Allentown, PA

Post by BariBigBird06 » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:37 pm

With half of Allentown in, it is quickly becoming very clear that nobody is going to catch up to the team from Concord. If any corps was going to, it would've had to been tonight, given the possibility of dirt from the new ending. But this clearly did not happen since they bested everyone once again with a victory margin of over a point.

With the current standings, this corps fan is now ready to make the call for the Blue Devils as the 2009 DCI World Champions.

*********************************

08/04/07 - Stanford, CA
95.125 The Cadets
94.825 Blue Devils

08/11/07 - Pasadena, CA (DCI Finals)
98.000 Blue Devils
97.025 The Cadets

SWING: 1.275

*********************************

08/04/06 & 08/05/06 - Allentown, PA

08/12/06 - Madison, WI (DCI Finals)
96.850 Phantom Regiment
96.550 Blue Devils

SWING: 1.250

*********************************

And that's just the past three years.

BD beat The Cadets tonight by 1.45. Do I think it's likely that anyone will catch BD? No. But by no means am I ready to call the race, especially considering that (IMO) both The Cadets' and Carolina Crown's shows still have far more room for growth in the last week than BD's does.

Big Blue is definitely the front-runner, but it ain't over until a week from tomorrow night.

I would not get ahead of yourself. If you paid attention to tonight Crown is right there with BD. It will be close. BD is probably the favorite to win but it would not be the first time BD went undefeated during the season only to lose the title.

Same judging crew, but BD and CC performed 24 hours apart... not a very good comparison compared to a head to head show.

Did Crown do something dramatic to cause this big time swing? I love it. I need to watch their latest show to see if there was some added ending, or if they just got cleaner, or if their closer is finally matching the intensity of the opener! Can anyone say PACING? Geez.

Can't wait for Big, Loud, and Live!!!

Its just a really good year for World Class. Crown has cleaned alot. Just look at the battles between Phantom, Boston and Blue Stars, who knows who will win that battle. Then you have the battle for that 12th spot between Troopers, Colts and Academy. Just a strong year for all.
