Re: New Uniforms for the 'gades
They even worked a "7" into the design of the uniform.

I like em. I think it'll help them visually A LOT. I’d prefer some sort of cover instead of glasses but hey, baby steps right?

Re: New Uniforms for the 'gades
I like the new uniforms and think they were a necessary investment for the 'Gades to make. However, I think they need some sort of cover to go with them. Keep the sunglases (on the west coast DCA corps always get stuck going on when the sun is right next to or just above the pressbox), however I think the formal uniform needs a cover. Not the traditional shako like MBi, but something......

Re: hats (shacko, Aussie, cover, etc) The official statement from randomnoise:
Hi gang,
Thanks for the comments.
Uniform design was first sketched by yours truly, refined by Greg Gilman and the rest of our uniform team. The dark "inner seven" is actually Velcro, allowing us to add accent colors. The uniform company is actually creating a number of different "sevens" for us to try.
Out headgear is a pair of black sunglasses. No hat. I totally understand the reasoning behind using a shako, but we reject the conformity of a hat for a variety of reasons - mostly to be different and to show our passion and energy while performing.

Re: New Uniforms for the 'gades
I know I read that but I still think being a formal uniform, it looks, for lack of a better word, odd, without a cover.
Even a beret with an embroidered 7 to match whatever color accent they choose would be better than nothing. I respect their design decision.....and this is just my opinion. I know there are others that say no cover is perfect also.
Hey this uniform is a lot better than what they were wearing. I give them props for adding a more formal look while still keeping their image!

i like the new look tho...haha... it shows people who we are .....
Re: New Uniforms for the 'gades
I'm missing the whole & thing so I feel VERY left out...
and I have a question, how does NOT wearing a shako show passion for energy? When i marched with a shako I felt i also had a passion for energy. We took them off for all the victory gigs though, and family night so our families could see us. Oh yeah, and when we marched the show with medals around our necks for the alst time at Foxboro.
In THOSE cases, i could see a group NOT marching shakos. Otherwise, I'd be voting for a cover (not that I get to vote).

For the same reason they wear sunglasses I would think headgear would be a must. Remember, many of those members are a little "follicly challenged"
