Help. Someone who speaks fluent spanish!!!!

Post by The Aceman » Tue Feb 10, 2009 9:15 am

If anyone could tell me what "pulgita" means. I've asked some people, but they have all said they don't really know how to translate it into English, and free online translators wont translate it. I have a vague idea what it means, but just wondered if anyone could clarify. Thanks in advance.

I have found from my sources that it means "little flea."

Technically if it was to be "little flea," it'd have to be spelled "pulguita". A "g" followed by a soft vowel (e or i) makes the "g" then have an "h" sound, so the "u" is there to retain the original intended pronunciation. Wow, I'm a nerd.

I don't know if it's the same word or not. I got the spelling from someone who speaks fluent Spanish, but I do not know how well they spell it. It's a possibility it is misspelled, or maybe it's a different word. To put it in context they are using it as sort of a pet name for someone, and they wont tell them what it means, so I'm trying to help them figure it out. LOL.

That is how it was explained to me, as a pet name. So we are probably talking about the same word with just some spelling issues.

Haha, yeah, it's the same word. I didn't mean to accuse anyone of being wrong. Just a little spelling issue.
