Pacquiao vs. De La Hoya

Post by crfrey71 » Wed Dec 03, 2008 2:01 pm

I say Manny "Pac Man" Pacquiao wins this. De La Hoya is done.

Pacquiao will win, De La Hoya is an old man. And Pacquiao is a freakin' machine. Besides no one wants De La Hoya to win anyways.

DeLaHoya lost his heart years ago when he started screwing around. Also, his attempt at mariachi singing didn't help his street cred either. Pacquiao has the eye of the tiger and is hungry for a win. I'm not convinced that DeLaHoya is taking this fight seriously.

What a surprise, Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao dominated all 8 rounds before Oscar had to sit in his corner and listen to his corner coach, trainer, ring doctor, and referee decide whether to stop the fight or not. That is, if he was even coherent enough to listen to them, with the left side of his pretty face swollen so bad he couldn't even open his left eye. I'm glad I went elsewhere to watch the fight, instead of spending $50 on such a complete mismatch. Not to mention all three fights before the main event were first or second round KO's.

I was kinda hoping for 12 rounds of completely even fighting with Manny knocking out De La Hoya with 2 seconds left in the 12th.....a wishes and dreams.

Pacquiao exceeded my expectations and stuck to his game plan: stay inside and keep pressuring him with the right. Oscar really didn't have the hand speed to keep up with Manny. And Manny's rights were devastating to Oscar's eye. Oscar got rocked. 8-)

"Manny is gradually reconfiguring De La Hoya's beautiful face"

that right there was the highlight!

All of this is a setup. That is why I knew Pacquiao would win (among other reason, as well).

De La Hoya promotes fights and this was a setup fight for the real fight, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. All 3 will make a killing from that fight. It's all about making the almighty dollar times... a few million.

If they fought for the money, that would be a change for the good. Quitting after the 8th round and not winning a single round doesn't sound like much of a fight to me.

Did you watch the fight? I did. Oscar's left eye got shut by Pacquiao's right hand, and Oscar couldn't see very well. Plus the cut from his nose was also bleeding into his eyes. He may have wanted to continue, but if he did, he would have suffered even more damage. Ring doctor did the right thing and left it to Oscar to decided whether to continue the abuse. And Oscar was smart enough to quit while he's still ahead; homeboy got a nice payday for 8 rounds.
