motivation
okay, so like i dont really know what section of the forum this should go in, so i'll just put it here.
what motivates or motivated you to be in band, colorguard, or drumline?
like, was it the performing aspect or the people or something else?

reason...
i remember it was towards the end of fourth grade and the JUNIOR HIGH (now middle school) that i was going to be attending in two years came to do a performance and show the different instruments that could be played to somewhat recruit incoming seventh graders. they also did a parade in front of the school, but i missed it because of a different recess or something (that part i forget).
i had my eye on the flute (i think i mentioned this in another topic before), but when we went to choose the instrument my mom made get the clarinet because i guess it was cheaper...
took the bus to the main high school for lessons with the band director for the next two years...then once a seventh grader tried to join both girls' basketball and marching band. wasn't very good at basketball, and eventually had to choose one or the other...being that i was much better with music than sports: i chose band...and the story started all there

I did it because it meant having a place to be on friday nights because of my social inability to meet people and my potential to do something stupid.
Also, I like playing music more than actually listening to it.
And my closest friends are in band.
And surprisingly, I have good music genes. I'm not half bad.
The o_O emoticon gives me the heebee jeebees.

But, sadly, I have no sense of humor.

I did it for the free hot dogs.
And because I had a precognition moment and knew that Hostrauser would cross my path in life. So, what better way to continually bug someone for 6 years of his life!!!

but I'm asian. I'll never have blue eyes

the motivation thing is a big issue...anyone got anything that could interest 100+ high school boys into doing band? lol

Easy: convince as many hot girls as you can to join the band or color guard.tooweird wrote:the motivation thing is a big issue...anyone got anything that could interest 100+ high school boys into doing band? lol
All I can think of right now is Mike Myers as Dr. Evil saying "You complete me." That was immediately replaced in my mind with a picture of Dr. Evil and Mini-Me, only Ryan's head was photo-shopped onto Dr. Evil and my face was photo-shopped onto Mini-Me.Ryan H.
