Last Night's Excitement

Post by Hostrauser » Tue May 06, 2008 8:46 am

So, I had just turned out the lights at about 11:30pm last night when I heard the squealing tires and sirens that signal a police chase. Falling asleep to the sounds of a police pursuit is nothing new in my neighborhood; having the squealing tires end with a huge crash that shakes the whole building is.

The guy who was running from the cops was our next door neighbor. He tried to “park” at about 40mph and slammed into another resident’s jeep, pushing it into one of the bedrooms of my other next door neighbor. He missed our brand new car by about five feet. As some of you know, yesterday was my wife’s birthday; I’m glad it didn’t end with our brand new car getting totaled. Thankfully, the other next door neighbor wasn’t home and no one was injured. Guy had been out partying for Cinco de Mayo and didn’t want to get pulled over for a DUI so he ran from the cops.

Fail.

Here’s a link to the news story. If you click on the image gallery you can find a picture of my goofy mug giving a TV news interview at 12:30 at night.

WOW is there a video of that interview? That is definitely not what I pictured you as. Maybe I was half-expecting a Zoidberg.
The o_O emoticon gives me the heebee jeebees.

LOL ... actually that is exactly how I pictured you. Little more red on the cheeks maybe, but maybe you got all dolled up for the cameras?
Oh ... and happy birthday to your wife. :)

There is, as it was shown on TV this morning during the news. I haven't been able to find it online, though.

Just a little flush of sunburn. Since my wife's birthday is Cinco de Mayo (practically a city-wide holiday in San Diego) we avoid going out on her birthday at all costs; so we had a picnic with friends at Mission Bay on Sunday. I used sunscreen, but I got a little red in spots.

Heh. Svelte I am not. But I was thinking that I looked "extra-fat" that night.

Had to lose it when I got the job at the naval shipyard several years ago. I haven't had the purple hair in about five years. And, at 31, I suppose it's a little old to be going back.

Seriously, I see lots of folks at the retirement home down the street with purple hair.

Yup and they all have little white poodles and drive those HUGE Cadillac's or Continental's from the '60's.

... be very VERY afraid Kevin. The last time Wil and Mallet did something like this we all joined a Fan Club for that Ryan guy. I can just see this turning into a "Purple Hair Guy Fan Club."
