This may be over the edge, but they also have long slick slides.

Well, this won't sound as bad now.

Trombonists also know many alternate positions! (and when to use them)

I don't know... I've seen some pretty trombonists that are just completely clueless about what position to use. They're just so sloppy.

Ok, this is starting to head down a scary line. Let's be careful that we don't cross the line with some of our references. They are funny, but remember, you don't know who is reading this. Just make sure we keep it clean.

Thanks!! :D

But, but, but.....there's truth & validity to my latest post. Doesn't 7th position look impressive? 8-)

I was about to thank everyone for NOT GOING to the "positions" card, or the "slide" card...nevermind.

I never really realized how exceptionally cool trombone players are. Here I am, feeling silly about my silly stick and beat analogies

Now I now why you started this topic. You trombonists are jealous. Of the saxophones. I'm sorry to tell you guys but us sax players can't help that we're so sexy. You just got burnt! Baaaadddddd!

Well the sax is a good instrument but where they shine is jazz and jazz only. No offence to any sax players but it is extremely rare that the sax would be used in the orchestra. The Trombone section is the umph and power of the orchestra along with the Tuba. Tell me what would the storm section from William Tell be without the godly trombones? What about Schumann's 3rd Symphony mvt 4, Pines of the Appian way, or any excerpts were the trombone delivers the power?

Anyways I digress, point is there is a lot more about the trombone then just dating girls, and all the other references you guys made.
I wonder what the guy who wrote the guide would have to say about us Bass Trombone players haha.
