Any opinions on this? Because I think it is incredible!

That takes some serious maturity to pull off, I think. And it takes a mature audience to not just dismiss it as just a random act of theatrics. Personally I think it's amazing.

Yes, the audience seemed to be very involved. I wonder how this concert would sound in America as opposed to Britain? Interesting to think that different countries can produce different versions of the music they hear...

Rehearsing this piece must have been stressful. It must have taken hours to prepare...

haha! I think this is the first time where the conductor needed the most rehearsal, watching that clock and all...

I recall reading once that upon hearing this work, Aaron Copland wrote (to paraphrase)
"One hopes to hear longer works of a similar nature by this composer in the future."

Copland and Stravinsky both could be complete jerks when criticizing their fellow composers. That's not to say some of their comments weren't completely hilarious; like Copland's epic bash of Ralph Vaughan Williams...
"Listening to the Fifth Symphony of Ralph Vaughan Williams is like staring at a cow for forty-five minutes."

It would drive the soundboard operator nuts if it needed to be amplified.

personally i would be pissed if i paid to get into a concert and they played that, sure it interprets the sounds we hear around us as music, but i think its better left to just be studied and never perform, i think its a waste of time that could be filled with a series of better and more deserving musical selections
