You guys have pretty much named it all. Pep tunes, dancing, cheering, all that good stuff. Our band goes pretty well with the cheerleaders AND ALSO the wrestlers. We do the cheers that the cheerleaders do, and we also do the cheers like, "Hey cheerleaders/wrestlers how do you feel?" Yeah, these three groups are the life of the football games at my school.

we chug down water (baritones), socialize, wait for team to score so we can play fight song. We don't only cheer with the cheerleaders, we ARE cheerleaders. Muchos louder then them. uhhhh... we also see how many times in one quarter I can drop a baseball into the stands. and then 3rd quarter we eat, then we rid other people for food and drinks. Pretty fun...

When we play our school song, we speed up to confuse the cheerleaders. They just stop. It's great. lol they give us these stares like "why are you donig this to us" and it's funny.

A few? In my day, we did it as often as possible.

Have you ever taken it up a third...or even an entire octave?
Yes, someone took it up an entire octave. None other than our good pal Joseph Gluck...shoulda seen him afterwards...his lips were bleeding horribly!

That's what I miss about playing clarinet in the stands. About the only thing though, since now I can play loud instead of high.

I'm sure your doing just fine on the tenor...its not like they needed another clarinet this year. Less high notes and more sound it would seem.
There are other reasons I could speculate, but for the sake of this board I won't say them.

Well that'd be something to see...
I guess it'd be a conflict of sorts...you see Kilts are worn at formal occasions, like marriages. So I guess its like flashing everyone when you get married...
And with all respect, how would you get a sign there?

Well there is another fact about Kilts that I know, and I certainly hope you wouldn't pin a sign to you, or even show it...which is why the back is better than the front.
