Tipping

Post by Indiana » Mon Sep 15, 2003 1:27 pm

How much do you tip?

I always try to tip 15%. If the service was good, I'll tip more. If it's bad, then I'll just tip the 15%....

So, what does everyone else do?

I always tip 15 percent, unless it was bad service. If its really bad, I'll tip hardly anything.
Normally my bills run around 20 dollars (cause I eat alot with friends) and I end up tipping maybe 3 or 4 dollars.

An interesting fact about tipping is that in Australia, they don't tip. Unless it's for a bus driver that you've had for a long period of time. Kind of interesting.

20%, even when the service is mediocre. I used to be a waitress, I know how hard it can be. I recall days when I was an absolutely horrible, but my customers were forgiving and would still generously tipped me. My very first customer left me a $4 tip for a $7 meal, back when I was still tripping over my feet and trying to figure out how to write the slip for the cooks. I always remember that when I go out to eat. If the service is really good (and the bill low enough), I'll tip up to 50%.

I tip 10-15% most of the time, mostly cause I'm a poor teenager with no time for a real job so I can't afford to tip much more.

If there's a tipping jar next to the register, then it depends how many ones are in my change, I'll usually give about 3 or 4 dollars. If it's at Denny's or something, then it'll be like 15% or so. I love tipping, it's one of me hobbies!

Generally, I tip 15% If the service was really good, I'll do 20, and if it was bad, I'll do 10. But if it was really bad...I'll leave a penny.

Obviously, the 'J' is for Jesbo.
And the 'B', well...that's for Burnination

That's not no tip...it's still one cent.

My mistake then.
Insult them WHILE leaving a pittance of a tip.

It doesn't really matter what small amount...it's still an insult and that was your point.
