Where do you find contemporary band composers?
I would like to invite established and emerging composers to premier works for band with my group. Does anyone have any insight about where to find band composers?

Sometimes I am willing/interested in just bringing in the sheet music, but other times I want to bring in the composer him/herself. I think composers should look to successful and skilled band programs to workshop, test, experiment. And this could be a great place for a world premier of a piece and can help on the road to publication.LoyalTubist wrote:Pardon my ignorance, but I don't understand the question...
Do you mean where can you find their music? Where can you find recordings of their music? Where do they live? Where do they work?
Please clarify.

No, seriously why not try asking around at your local college and/or University?
