To Tame the Parilous Skies
Watchman, Tell Us of the Night
Godzilla Eats Las Vegas

A personal favorite that I've not played before is a Euphonium solo called If All Those Endearing Young Charms. but that's just me.

I really like Fate of the Gods, but I find myself more into the October genre. I like the whole slow ballad thing. I like a piece with a lot of building chords. Plus the Euphonium solo in October is to die for... if played right.

wind ensemble:
Gum sucker's march (really hard it pushed me to get better)
Pageant (the trills are so cute!)
Orininal suite (hard too)
Symphonic Suite (pushed me to get better too...hard music rocks!)

concert band:
fate of the gods (really varying in styles)
American river songs
prairie dances (nice song...weird but nice!) :D

I think you mean "Pageant" by Vincent Persichetti. "Pageantry" is a march by Karl King. ;)

for all u who said into the raging river was good, that is possibly the least musical song i have heard, it has terrible music content and is the easiest i have seen. It is boring to listen to. Overture to Candide is a good one, kudos to whoever put that. Fate of the gods sounds pretty bad too. as a rule guys,. almost anything by hal leanard is terrible, old music is where its at.

ya, I'm going to agree with musicman on that one. Our wind ensemble is playing that piece right now, and it is really boring. It sounds like something a beginning band would play, but this is just my opinion. :P

Yeah, our bottom band played that last year...

I'd have to say my favorites are Masque by Kenneth Haskell, and (hehehe) Postcard by Frank Tichelli.

Obviously, the 'J' is for Jesbo.
And the 'B', well...that's for Burnination

I loved playing Masque. And I love hearing it, but the version I have is of ok quality.
I've heard about this Postcard piece...so I devled and did some research.

timpani music wise, Danceries (especially the 4th movement) and Gazebo Dances were a lot of fun, very challenging... but as for the entire ensemble, Cowboy was wonderul!
