I truly feel for anyone who has to sit through Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance---I've played it through junior high [middle school for you young'uns], high school, and college [undergrad & grad years]. 12+ years of it!
BTW, it's worse for college, since you might have to play it for more than one ceremony in a 2-3 day period.[!]

Take it from the tuba player... (who knows all about tacit movements)
You should never go to a rehearsal for pieces such as the Second Symphony by Jean Sibelius or the New World Symphony (the orchestra tuba part is the pits!) without a magazine, computer game (with headphones), or a novel. You never miss anything!
