How to go about joining a corps??

Post by ronsj » Mon Jul 21, 2003 4:43 pm

For about a year, I've been a fan of drum corps and I'd like to join one of the two San Diego area drum corps. But I'm not even sure where to start. So now I begin with the questions...

Firstly, when are auditions, and what do you have to do for these auditions?
What are the chances of making the drum corps of my choice? (1: Esperanza, 2: Alliance)
How expensive is it to join?

That's just a few questions... Oh... one more. I'm 16, 17 in March, so I've got a few years before I become ineligble to march. Should I wait until I'm out of high school?

Oh yeah, I play French Horn and I plan on marching Mello.

Any advice/input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ;)

Just make sure you have both corps websites bookmarked. Unless they go through a major overhaul, they'll let the public know ASAP about the date for auditions.

Esperanza: http://www.EsperanzaCorps.org

San Diego Alliance: http://www.sandiegoalliance.org

You don't have to wait until you're out of high school. Think of it as a fun way to self-improve during the spring/summer.
