Carolyn Jantsch won the tuba position with Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra last week, becoming the first woman to do so (and possibly the youngest ever, at only age 21!!!)Bandmaster wrote:Carolyn Mae Jantsch from Mount Vernon, OH, is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy. She is attending the University of Michigan. Click here to view a video of Carolyn's performance at the 2003 Scholarship Awards ceremony.
This girl is one serious tuba player.... WOW!

We have a female tuba player but she does guard during marching season. Last year we had a piano player who played in Wind Ensemble and also played tuba.
