Yes, I used to watch Gem and the Holograms. I even had the Gem doll with flashing earrings. I never had a Ken doll, so unfortunately for Gem, she was always the boy when we played with our Barbies. I wasn't her fault that she was taller and more realistically proportioned!!

I remember the show, although I rarely if ever watched it.

Here's another blast from the past: C.O.P.S.

No, not the "bad boys, what you gonna do" reality show, but the cartoon from way back when. That one was cool. ;)

it seems to me that no one my age or like in the teens knows about Gem and the Holograms... i've asked so many ppl (and it would be a lot cuz i've traveled all my life) about it but you'd have to be the first that know about it! Oh and i dont know what C.O.P.S is.. :!:

Oh heck yeah I remember Gem!! That was my favorite show back in the day, and when it went off the air I seriously cried and would watch TV on saturdays looking for it. I also had the Gem doll, and it made me upset when I couldn't changer her clothes since Barbies are smaller, and so Gem had to go on dates in the same thing, over and over again. Poor girl.
But yeah, another good 80's cartoon was Rainbow Bright...Yes, I had those dolls also. And Strawberry Shortcake or Care Bears were fun on occasion.
or "boy" cartoons, one word: Transformers. Yes they were quite good. GI Joe and He-Man weren't my favorites, but I watched them.
So there, I do know about 80's cartoons being a child of the 80's (hah, I was born in 84, so yes I was a child, not an infant). A great song about the 80's is "Babies of the 80's" by Something Corporate...
"Little girls in lycra shorts/ Tented beds, nerf contact sports/ My babies of the 80's/ Shout it out just one more time/ For the generation that was all mine"

always,
<><Adrian

Even though this is thread necromancy, which we know Hostrauser despises. I'll leave this one unlocked because I think it could potentially create some discussion. Something severely lacking in the OT forums at the moment.

I don't remember this show, considering it's original run ended when I was 2-years old, that's no big surprise.

Sorry, I made a vow to lock every 4-5 year old thread that he resurrects. If you want to unlock it, have fun.

Fine, but you can't object if someone starts a NEW thread about Jem and the Holograms!

NOTE: If someone wanted to talk about Jem and the Holograms, see above.

I don't understand why thread necromancy has become so popular lately. And Aceman, why should we make a new thread to discuss Jem and the Holograms when we (mods) can still discuss it here.

On another note, do any of you posters that were here when Puck still posted know who the woman in the avatar is?
