The internet explorer vulnerability was that websites could automatically instal programs on to your computer without your knowledge and permission. for example a weird toolbar appeared in my brother's laptop and he didnt install anything there. and it also took him awhile to figure out how to get rid of it.

Another IE vulnerability is sites displaying a different URL in the address bar so you could be visiting a scam site but the address bar is displaying a legitimate site

First things first, run whatever Anti-Virus scan you have to confirm that do indeed have the virus. I too saw the profile thing, but with a friend of mine. I clicked on the link and I was warned I had a virus. I ran my protection service, and it says I don't have a virus.
If it does say you have a virus, then your service might give you some options to get rid of it. I myself have never had a virus, so I'm not quite sure what options you have. :?

If you have no anti-virus software, then there are some sites online that will do virus scans for you.
I'm afraid thats the most advice I can offer. :(
Good luck!

Virus gone. Thanks guys. I had some problems in the beginning, then I found out that all I needed to do was delete the actual messege.

Wow I haven't heard anything about that. I always have my computer set to ask me if I want to download things, but I don't know much about computers and I'm sure there are ways to get around that. I'm paranoid and run Virus Scan a lot.
