What do you look for in a person of the opposite sex?

Any topic is game... you can discuss it here! Just keep it clean, OK?

To me, there is a BIG difference between a 21-year old sleeping with a 17-year old and a 50-year old sleeping with a 14-year old. But in the eyes of the law they are the same (felony statutory rape) and they get the same mandatory sentence (5 years in prison, IIRC). To me this is just absurd.
It's so stupid that it's ran that way. I know of someone who was one month from turning eighteen when her parents got her boyfriend for stat. rape. What is that, man?!

And, whether the adult was twenty or fifty, if the minor was willing then well good for them. No, I lie. Sixteen, sixteen should be the minimum. If they're under sixteen ... sorry for their luck. And the minor should recieve punishment as well ... I mean it takes two to tango, right? Egh, I dunno. This is a topic I can't get into without becoming extremely irritated. So I'll just stop while I'm ahead.

i agree...around 18 and with consent is questionable. but the line has to be drawn somewhere right? if it goes to 16 now, whats stopping it from going to 14 in the future?

Elaborate your position. Why is that a problem?

That's fine. :) My argument is kinda based on the fact that 16 and 14 were considered perfectly acceptable ages for nearly 2,000 years, until the 20th century. I'm not saying that's right, wrong, or anything of the sort, I just curious as to why you would think it would be wrong (or a problem).

Just to let you know ... a MAN just told me this  "All women want security, and men want sex"
 :frustrated:
It's comments like that which start the stereotypes. And even more so when it's coming from the group it's directed at.

Here anything goes short of anything not socially acceptable as in swearing, flame bait, trolling and such.

I meant to stay on the topic of what the topic was about, even though it is off-topic, not necessairly meaning on topic while being off-topic but then again, maybe it does? Who knows what they mean by off-topic. It could be so vauge that it could hint away at on topic things despite that there is no real point in calling it on or off topic. Having off topic really takes away the point because how can we have a topic to begin with?
