DDR and Band
I know there was a DDR thread but it sorta died...
So here it is again!
You see, in the marching band forums, the conversation drifted to DDR and how you as a band student make the game easier for yourself.
Like I'll dut and keep time. What about you guys???

I'm probably the furthest thing you can get away from being Asian and I'm still good at the game.

I think being in band period helps. Reading the arrows is like reading music...
Which is why so many people can't do it.
And the people who can't do it are the ones who hate it.

I haven't AAAed any songs yet at the arcade, I'm mad.
Anyways, that game is fun. But Beatmania IIDX, PopNMusic, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania are all better.
Anyways I'll be going to Arizona the weekend of the 15th of November for a DDR Tournament, is anyone else going to this? They're giving away an Extreme machine for the winner.
I'll be doing Intermediate and Freestyle.
So, um...what the hardest song you guys can do?
Mine is probablly getting 19 greats on Irristiblement.

The hardest I did...
I think I managed to clear the 9-foot Paranoia Rebirth. It was a just a bearable clear...
And 7-foot Dynamite Rave. I hate the song, and it should be 8-feet. 9-feet on that should be like...15000 feet.
I like DMX...and the Healing Winds...Trip machine as well.
Favorite series: Paranoias, Trip Machines, La Senoritas.

I don't know the recent songs...
The closest recent I think is Matsuri...which I AAAed on 4. AAed on 5...9 is too hard...unless you know how to hop.
I love drop out! AAAed on 5...A on 7...and failed out on 9.

I'm in guard and that helps, but I still suck. My friend got it for her PS2, even the footpad and stuff. But I suck. I lived with a Chinese stepdad for eight years but my egg-ness has washed away.
Uh-oh for life!

The plastic pads are horrible. They never stick or anything...you end up half dancing, half sliding.
I was lucky and I had some extra money available. I invested in the harder pads, and those are much better, but there is nothing like the actual machines themselves.
But I do admit, they are good for practicing.

We actually have a DDR fundraiser for band. We bought two metal arcade-style pads and hooked them to a PS2 and a TV on a stand. We roll the TV our at lunch and charge $1 for 2 songs.
We have some pretty crazy players. This one alto sax has to hold his pants up while he's playing because he lost weight since the beginning of the year. I think he should probably get a belt haha. It's a pretty good fundraiser, there is quite a large following. One kid plays religiously. I think most of the money we've raised has come from him!
