Band Reviews!!!!!

Post by EUHSguardGirl » Sun Sep 28, 2003 8:04 pm

Oh yaaaaay!!!! The best part of marching season--band reviews. ^_^

We always do the craziest stuff on the bus rides there...heh heh truth or dare...
I've noticed lots of people hook up at band reviews, too.

Anyone else like 'em as much as I do? Wouldn't it be cool to keep like a Review journal topic or something (if there isn't one already) and post pics and stuff? Or have board members post what reviews they'll be going to and people could meet up with each other or something?

What do you guys think?

That would probably fit well in the marching band section, and I'm sure they'll be plenty of re-views once the seasons really gets into full swing.

Personally, I wouldn't mind doing that though. It'd bring the WOP community closer together.

If it means anything, I'll be going to the WBA RCC band review on Nov 1st, and I might do the Simi Valley comp this saturday.

I haven't marched in a band review in almost 10 years, yet I still go to them. So, yes. ;-)

What date are those shows??? If I can make it, we can all have a mad band-review gathering.

Mt. Carmel is on 10/25, and I think Arcadia is on 11/15, but I'm not sure on that one.

Eh...things aren't looking so good then...
I'll see what opens up for me, if anything.

Ok...and this helps how?
I don't think any of us are going to see one school...we're going to see them all.

formermarcher, I think that shorts posted those so that if any other schools or people were going to those reviews, we could meet up. :)

Is anyone going to Santa Cruz, Lodi or Newman?
Geesh, I wish our school still did a bunch of reviews.
But unfortunately...our band director doesn't like to do them (or at least that's what he told me when I asked him). We can't do field shows because he "doesn't like them." :( And I'm sad...everyone talks about them, I feel like I'm missing out on a big experiance. Oh well. lol

To EUHS Guard Girl,

Have you asked your director exactly why he doesn't want to do field shows? I know your director personally and I wouldn't characterize him as lazy. Some bands focus on parade, and do it really well. I wouldn't call the Benicia and Fairfield directors lazy, and they don't do field shows. If your director was a lazy man he probably wouldn't choose to teach at the high school level, or instrumental music for that matter. Think about it.
