That I will agree with.
I gues you could say this is an indicator for both teams for the rest of the season (well, for the Cowboys at least).
If the Eagles win, there will be a huge tie atop the NFC East, throwing it into anyones hands.
If the Cowboys win, they will have overcome a big obstacle, and will have even more firm control over the NFC East.
This game actually means something, I guess.
Are they showing it on FOX?

Righty.
Again I'll state I am happy...and I'll state I was totally wrong.
Dallas did beat Philly. I should have more support in my team. I think after watching that game...I have more faith in them. They hustled out there and didn't lose focus when the Eagles took the lead.
Just out of curiosity...where would you place the Jets had they not beaten Buffalo...or beaten Buffalo as bad as they did?

Going back to the topic...
I am really surprised that the Panthers are where they are now. In fact, the three undefeated teams have surprised me.
Kansas City, Carolina, and Minnesota.
Of the 8 teams that are with one loss or less (including the undefeated), 7 of them didn't make the playoffs last year.
Where does the real power lie in the league, Phantom?
Which team can take control fro the next few years???

You really only need to do two things to win a lot of football games:formermarcher wrote:Going back to the topic...

- run the ball
- stop others from running the ball
That's it. And, you'll notice, this is the key to the Carolina Panthers' success. Stephen Davis is tearing up the turf, and their defense is rock-solid. Thus, I don't think Carolina's success is a fluke. Barring injuries, and assuming they can keep the momentum going, Carolina should be a major player in the NFC playoffs.
Kansas City has looked awesome, and with Priest Holmes and possibly the NFL's best offensive line they are certainly capable of running the ball. But they defense so far has barely been "just good enough" and their secondary is very suspect (look at the Green Bay game). When push comes to shove, I don't see the Chiefs being able to stop teams when they need to. I see Kansas City making the playoffs, but not the Super Bowl.
Minnesota is kind of an enigma. They've done a wonderful job with their "running back by committee" so far, and the defense has been solid. Still, I can't help but think they're playing a little bit over their level. Their defense really only has two bona fide stars (DT Chris Hovan and S Corey Chavous). But they also have a very underrated QB in Daunte Culpepper (I'd take him over Donovan McNabb any day of the week) and, when he wants to be, the best WR in the NFL in Randy Moss (yes, sorry Niner fans, but Randy is better than Terrell Owens... not that T.O. is bad, far from it). Again, playoffs is a possibility, but I just can't see how they'd make it all the way.
My pre-season pick was Indianapolis vs. Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl. I stand by that, but I'll add two more teams to the mix. Right now, I really think only four teams have a shot at winning it all:
Indianapolis/Miami vs. Tampa Bay/Carolina
